Mardi Gras
The annual Central Coast Mardi Gras is held on the first weekend in December. Join in the festivities of the street parade, carnival, judging of the Mardi Gras queen or the Ducks for Bucks.
Carols By Candlelight
The annual Carols by Candlelight is held on Christmas Eve every year in the Memorial Park at the Entrance. Come and enjoy the sea breeze whilst singing along to your favourite carols and getting into the spirit of the season.
New Years Eve
Ring in the New Year with a fabulous fireworks display at the ocean front. Held in the memorial park at a child friendly time of 9:00pm and of course midnight celebrate in a relaxing atmosphere. This event is weather permitting.
Themed Weekends
There are a number of themed weekends which are held at various times throughout the year. Join in the fun of the Central Coast Country Music Festival, All American Muscle Car Show or perhaps the Seabreeze Festival.
Sporting Events
Central Coast Mariners
The successful A-League team the Central Coast Mariners are based in Gosford just a 20 minute drive from The Entrance. Come and stay for a seaside escape when the Mariners play your favourite team.
Rugby League
Keep an eye on your fixtures and follow your team to the coast when they are playing in town. Many teams play random games throughout the season at the Blue Tongue Stadium at Gosford.
Tours and Attractions Further Afield
The Reptile Park
Take the kids for a short drive to Somersby to visit the Australian Reptile Park. Established in 1948 the reptile park truly is a central coast icon. Go and check out the giant crocodiles, snakes, spiders and some cute and cuddly animals too. The kids will be exhausted at the end of this exciting adventure. Just a 30 min short drive from The Entrance, the Reptile Park is well worth the trip.
Glenworth Valley Horse Riding
If horses take your fancy the whole family can go horse riding at Glenworth Valley. With tours to meet all levels of experience from first timers to experienced riders you will enjoy these trails through the majestic surroundings. You will feel worlds away from the hustle and bustle when you meet the rural Central Coast.
Norah Head Light House
Visit a little piece of history, established in 1903, the beautiful Norah Head Lighthouse is automated and still in operation today. Set high on the cliff face above the beautiful Norah Head Beach, the lighthouse is the perfect back drop for an afternoon picnic and for the vivid photographer and opportunity for some fantastic snaps. Participate in one of the tours and climb the 96 steps to enjoy the 360 degree views.
Australian Rainforest Sanctuary
Take a bushwalk or enjoy an afternoon bbq in the natural surroundings of the Central Coast Rainforests located at Ourimbah approximately 20 mins drive from The Entrance.
Annual Flora Festival
The Australian Springtime Flora Festival is held in September every year at Mt Penang Parklands, Kariong approx 30 mins from The Entrance. This award-winning event is very popular with over 300 landscaped garden displays featuring the latest trends and products on the market. This exhibition is a haven for the avid gardener.
